Ron, the owner of Hillsboro Vac & Sew, has been an Oregon resident most of his life and has been a part of the vacuum and sewing industry nearly as long. Ron's father, Arthur, was the original owner of the store until Ron purchased the family business in 1987. In the years since Ron has built a foundation of great customer service and quality products to become one of the most trusted names in Washington County for all things vacuum and sewing. He has a passion for helping every customer that walks through the door find exactly what they need. Whether it is a top of the line sewing machine or vacuum, a hard to find part, a tune up on their machine or to just answer a question, Ron wants to help his customers get what they need.
James was born and raised in Hillsboro and, much like his father, Ron, has grown up around and immersed in the sewing and vacuum industry. James has always had a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together. Often times, finding ways to improve on the original design or just knowing the best way to fix it. This definitely came in handy when he began working with his father as a young man in high school. He has many years of experience and is extremely knowledgeable about both sewing machines and vacuums. Whether you are looking to buy or needing yours fixed. James will be able to help you!
As an original founder with Ron Prevost in 1987, Tracy takes great pride in being a part of the Hillsboro Vac & Sew family. She was born in Newberg and raised in Hillsboro and considers herself a “true Oregonian” loving the outdoors and everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer. She brings with her 15+ years of sewing and quilting experience. Having a love of the textiles she finds herself most comfortable behind a sewing machine and/or serger. She will be teaching you how to operate your machine and will be offering a variety of classes. Check out our "Classes & Workshops) tab to find out more!
Glenn has been a member of Hillsboro Vac & Sew team since 1996. He is a certified Master Technician and adds many years of experience to our sewing department. In short, if your machine is broken, he can fix it! In his free time, Glenn enjoys hiking, quilting and tinkering in R/C aircraft building and piloting. We are happy to have Glenn as a integral part of our our team and he is always happy to answer any questions.
Mike became part of the team in the spring of 2010. Ever since he was young, he was always working on and fixing his friend's bikes. It made perfect sense when he came on board and he quickly took to repairing sewing machines. He specializes in repairing mechanical style machines and especially loves to spend that extra bit of time on restoring original machines to their prime. Mike has also brought many other valuable skills to the store, including sharpening scissors and has become a great resource for our customers.
Aside from Ron, Andres has logged the most number of years repairing and servicing vacuums. There has yet to be a machine to walk through the door that he couldn't figure out and he has repaired over 10,000 vacuums! He takes great care in making sure that every part of each vacuum he services is working properly. Andres is also invaluable in the fact that he is bilingual and can assist our Spanish speaking customers so we can better serve our community as a whole.
