Common Questions

See some common questions to consider

  • How often should I service my sewing machine?

We recommend that sewing machines that are used on a semi-regular basis be serviced every 2-4 years. A machine that is used regularly, 3+ days a week, should be brought in at least once a year. Keep in mind that even if the machine is stored and not used often, it should be brought in for a service every 4-5 years. Your machine will always perform at its best when it is serviced regularly

  • How often should I service my vacuum cleaner?

Vacuum cleaners can go through a lot of abuse. If you use your vacuum regularly a few times a week, you should bring it in for a service every 1-2 years to maintain a good working machine. If you use your vacuum more frequently or in heavier duty applications, for work or if you have multiple animals or young children, we recommend that the machine be serviced every 6 months - 1 year.

  • Why isn't my vacuum picking anything up?

Your vacuum may have a clog or you might have a broken belt or bad brushroll. You could also try a new bag and filters. If you have eliminated all of those possibilities, you may need to bring it in for a service.

  • Why isn't my brush roller turning?

Check that your belt hasn't broken or is worn. It may also be your brushroll. Remove all debris from your brushroll and test that it spins freely. If it is locked up, that is a good indicator that you are ready for a new brush roll.

  • Why is my thread bunching when I sew?

This is usually an indicator of your tensions being set incorrectly or your machine needing to be serviced.

  • Why does my needle keep breaking?

If your needle breaks, try the following:

    • Use care not to pull on the fabric when sewing.
    • Make sure your needle is inserted correctly.
    • Make sure you have the proper needle for your project and try using a new needle.

  • Why is my fabric puckering?

Below are some things to try to keep your fabric from puckering:

    • Check your needle for any damage & replace if needed.
    • Rethread your machine, top and bobbin.
    • Make sure you are using the proper thread for your fabric type.
    • Use a quality thread.
    • Shorten your stitch length.
    • Try using a stabilizer.
  • Is there a discount for multiple machines?

    Well see.
